Irish company FundSME – which links small companies with sources of finance according to what it gauges to be the best fit for their businesses – has announced that it is expanding outside of Ireland into Jamaica.
FundSME has attracted up to 18,000 small businesses and helped hundreds of Irish companies connect with traditional and alternative funders who have provided €20 million of funds to suit entrepreneurs’ financial needs.
The company specialises in connecting small and medium enterprises seeking finance with best-fit funders and the move is the company’s first venture towards serving the international market.
In partnership with business solutions provider, Digicel Business, FundSME will serve the Jamaican SME market from a new base in Kingston.
Speaking at the announcement, FundSME CEO Nollaig Fahy said: “This is a very special day in FundSMEs’ evolution. We began building our business model in Ireland, with the intention of expanding into other regions outside Ireland to serve new markets.
“Our team is delighted to be working with Digicel Jamaica and look forward to working with David and his team to maximise the benefits FundSME Jamaica will bring to Jamaica’s SME sectors.”
