An Irish product design consultancy has taken the top spot at the Red Dot International Design Awards for the 5th year in a row. Dolmen, in partnership with its clients, was successful in a field of over 6,000 entrants from 59 countries across the world.
The first winning product design was produced by Merlyn, based in Kilkenny, which created a virtually frameless shower door, for smaller shower enclosures. The second of the two winning products focuses on optimising cattle fertility – the Moocall Heat is the newest product from the agri-tech company, Moocall.
Commenting on the win, Chris Murphy, Design Director and CEO of Dolmen said: “Winning at the Red Dot Awards for the fifth year in a row has highlighted the successful partnerships we have with our clients. Our collaborative team approach, working closely with the client’s internal new product development teams, has consistently delivered excellence and innovation in product design and our client partners have reaped the rewards, both through leading the charge in international design awards and the commercial successes that result. Dolmen embeds design as an essential business function for our clients, allowing dynamic Irish brands to beat the competition and to reap the rewards on an international stage.”
The Red Dot International Design Awards have existed since 1954. The awards were announced this week and the awards ceremony will take place on the 9th of July in Essen, Germany.
